At the animation seminar, what they didn't want to see from students was manga (they showed cute anime girls on the projector), which really hit me like a truck, but it's what I expected them to say. But what they really didn't want was generic and copied work, which is completely understandable. I was given the advice of doing life drawings and just drawing whatever I see, to get a broader perspective. I think that's pretty feasible. It's about time I tried drawing new things.
So now, I'm undertaking the challenge of drawing one thing a day, even if it's a little scribble. But hey, even if I don't get in the course, I have this new experience. Let's do this!
PS. I'm not giving up manga just yet. I need a well practiced, strong style to fall back onto for artist alley tables!
